Large-scale Russian Attacks Disrupt Electricity In Ukraine's Capital

Power facilities under attack in Ukraine
Ukraine's energy systems have faced increased attacks in the past few days

During the night, Russian aerial assaults have resulted in power cuts in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

A number of civilians were injured while local people in eastern neighborhoods were experienced blackouts and encountered disruption to water supplies, per reports from local authorities.

Meanwhile, a young boy was lost their life in a separate Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia area in the country's south-east, based on information from regional authorities.

Moscow has intensified strikes on electrical systems over recent weeks, while officials has called for "concrete actions" from international partners to increase pressure on Russia.

"What is required is not window dressing but decisive action - from the US, European nations and the G7 - in delivering protection systems and implementing sanctions," mentioned in a public message.

Authorities reported that 450 drones and several dozen missiles attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure, characterizing such strikes as "cynical and calculated" and against "critical infrastructure" as temperatures become colder.

Government representatives said Russia was "launching a major assault" and technical staff were working to fix the damage.

A wave of strikes hit power facilities and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people wounded in the assaults on the capital have been taken to hospital, per statements from local officials.

Regional authorities said the urban area came under heavy assaults during nighttime hours. A young boy was killed and several individuals were hurt.

The strikes come after periods of bombing campaigns in the area, parts of which are occupied by invading troops.

The whole nation is under warning for advanced weapon attacks, which are more difficult to detect.

Government officials told the media that Moscow was purposely seeking to demolish the country's energy grid, with attacks already disrupting fuel infrastructure.

He said energy workers and government agencies were anticipating additional strikes.
